Clothing Donation Guidelines
Standing with the Lapu Lapu victims in their time of need
Thank you for considering donating your clothing to our upcoming fundraiser. Your contribution helps us support the victims and families of those affected by Lapu Lapu Day. To ensure your donations can be processed efficiently and respectfully, please take a moment to review the following guidelines:
What We Gladly Accept:
We welcome clean and gently used clothing for all ages and sizes. This includes:
- Apparel: Shirts, blouses, pants, jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, sweaters, and jackets.
- Outerwear: Hats, scarves, gloves.
- Footwear: Shoes, boots (in pairs and in wearable condition).
- Accessories: Belts, handbags, backpacks (in good condition).
Important Guidelines for Your Donations:
To help us make the most of your generosity, please ensure your donated items meet the following criteria:
- Cleanliness is Key: Please wash all clothing items before donating. This helps us maintain a hygienic environment for our volunteers and ensures the items are ready for their next use.
- Gently Used Condition: We appreciate items that are still in good, wearable condition. While minor wear and tear is understandable, we cannot accept items that are heavily stained, ripped, torn, have missing buttons or broken zippers, or are excessively worn out.
- Dryness Matters: Please ensure all donated items are dry when placed in the bin. Wet or damp clothing can become moldy and unusable, affecting other donations as well.
- Bagging Your Donations: For ease of handling and to protect your donations from the elements, please place your items in securely tied plastic bags before placing them in the bin. Standard grocery bags or similar sizes work well.
- No Household Items (Unless Specified): Unless explicitly stated otherwise on the bin or our website, please refrain from donating household items such as furniture, kitchenware, electronics, toys, or books in our clothing bins. These items often require different processing and distribution methods.
Items We Cannot Accept:
For health and safety reasons, and due to limitations in our processing capabilities, we cannot accept the following items in our clothing bins:
- Soiled, stained, ripped, torn, or excessively worn clothing.
- Wet or damp clothing.
- Single shoes or boots.
- Undergarments (unless new and in original packaging).
- Socks (unless new and in original packaging).
- Hazardous materials.
- Broken or unusable items.
- Household items (furniture, kitchenware, electronics, etc. - unless specifically requested).
Thank You for Your Support!
Your thoughtful donations make a real difference! By following these guidelines, you help us streamline our operations, ensure the quality of the items we distribute, and ultimately maximize the positive impact we can have.
